The Work

We installed new Classic PVCu windows throughout the property, including a new bow window, as well as a new composite front door. The front door was finished green on the outside and white on the inside, with Satin glass and the house numerals displayed in clear glass. The customer chose Georgian bars for the porch window and bow window, adding the detailing they wanted to these areas of the property.

The Benefits of the New Windows & Door

The replacement work addressed several issues the customer had experienced with their previous windows and front door. The old front door had caused the customer problems with locking and not locking properly, resulting in a poor experience with the previous installation. The new composite front door has provided a much easier-to-use solution, and the customer is delighted with how easily it functions.

The customer had also experienced problems with their existing bow window, which was approximately 10 years old. The previous installation had not included a lintel and had provided no insulation to the head or bottom of the bow window.

Overcoming the Challenge

The customer wanted a practical way to use the office window as a fire escape, but the existing casement window did not provide the opening solution they were looking for.

We worked with the customer to change the design to a tilt and turn window, providing a different way of opening the window while meeting their requirements. The customer was particularly pleased with this feature and described it as one of their favourite parts of the project.

The Result

The completed project included new Classic PVCu windows, a new bow window and a composite front door, while leaving the rear door and kitchen window unchanged.

The new front door has resolved the locking issues experienced with the previous door, while the new bow window was installed with a lintel and insulation to address the shortcomings of the previous installation.

The customer was particularly pleased with the easy function of the new composite door, the improved bow window installation and the tilt and turn office window, which was one of their favourite features of the project.
