Conservatory Warm Roof Replacement in Burton

Transforming an Unusable Conservatory into a Comfortable Year-Round Space

Project Overview

This Derbyshire homeowner wanted to transform an existing conservatory that was no longer comfortable or practical to use throughout the year. The existing polycarbonate conservatory roof offered limited thermal efficiency and could make the room uncomfortable during periods of cold weather or strong sunshine.

The solution was to remove the existing roof and replace it with a fully insulated warm roof system, creating a more comfortable and energy-efficient space for the homeowner.

The Work

Abbey & Burton Glass removed the existing polycarbonate roof and replaced it with a fully insulated warm conservatory roof structure, finished externally with Our Oak-effect tiles. The new roof was completed with a plastered internal finish and integrated spotlights, creating a clean and modern interior. Building regulations were also included as part of the installation, with the work carefully carried out to ensure the conservatory was watertight from day one.

The Benefits of a Warm Conservatory Roof

The new warm roof dramatically improved the performance and usability of the conservatory.

The insulated structure helps retain heat during the winter while keeping the room cooler during sunny summer days. Improved thermal efficiency can also help reduce the amount of energy required to heat the space.

The new roof also helped to address problems associated with the previous polycarbonate roof, including unwanted rain and wind noise, glare and leaks.

The homeowner can now enjoy a quieter, more comfortable conservatory year round.

Overcoming the Challenge

As with any roof replacement, protecting the property from the weather was an important consideration. The installation was carefully planned with the aim of achieving a watertight roof from the first day, while allowing the work to progress efficiently despite changing weather conditions.

The Result

The completed project has transformed the conservatory into a comfortable, practical room that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

With improved insulation, reduced outside noise, a modern tiled exterior and a finished plastered interior with spotlights, the space now feels much more like a natural extension of the home.
